WELCOME TO THE MCCLAIN COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE

The men and women of the McClain County Sheriffs Office are committed to enhance the quality of life and lessen the criminal fears of all citizens. Utilizing the authority and safeguards of the Constitution of the United States and the freedoms cited in the Bill of Rights, the laws and statutes of the State of Oklahoma we, the members of the McClain County Sheriff’s Office, will work cooperatively with all segments of the general public and government to provide a safe environment and preserve the peace.

“It is an honor and privilege to serve as your McClain County Sheriff. Since I have taken office, I have continued to improve the service and function of your McClain County Sheriff’s Office while maintaining a minimal expense to our tax payers. It is my goal to continue to offer the citizens the level of response and concerns that you expect out of a quality Law Enforcement Agency”.

James started his law enforcement career in 1992. He has spent his entire career in McClain County, serving the citizens of the county. James has held various positions within his career, but his focus has always been to help people and keep them safe. James holds an Advanced CLEET Certification and also is a Nationally Registered EMR.

Captain Bryan Murrell started his law enforcement career in 2001. He began his career at the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center before completing his Associates Degree and becoming CLEET certified. Captain Murrell worked as a patrol officer with the Rush Springs Police Department before becoming a member of the Grady County Sheriff’s Office where he served in various roles. Captain Murrell took a brief absence from law enforcement to manage an Oil & Gas service company. Captain Murrell came back to his calling in law enforcement and served as the Chief of Police for the Dibble Police Department before being hired at the McClain County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Don Hewett. Captain Murrell has served as a Patrol Deputy, Detective Sergeant, and now as a Captain over operations under Sheriff Landy Offolter.

 

Captain Murrell graduated from Newcastle High School and currently lives in Newcastle with his wife Heather of 20 years. Bryan and Heather have raised 3 daughters in Newcastle with all but the youngest graduating from Newcastle High School. Captain Murrell supervises the Operations of the McClain County Sheriff’s Office including Patrol and Investigations. He serves on the Oklahoma Internet Crimes against Children Task Force and Western District of Oklahoma Safe Trails Task Force. Captain Murrell enjoys leading the men and women of the McClain County Sheriff’s Office as well as serving the Citizens of McClain County.
